Anker’s reputation for sleek, high-performance charging devices took a hit when lithium-ion batteries inside several models began overheating, causing melting plastic, smoke, and even explosions. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has now backed the recall, confirming 33 incidents, including burn injuries and property damage.

Recalled Models: Is Yours on the List?

If you purchased an Anker power bank between August 2023 and June 2025, check your device immediately. The following models are affected:

• A1647 – 22.5W
• A1652 – 7.5W (MagGo)
• A1257 – 22.5W
• A1681 – 30W
• A1689 – 30W

These were sold through Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, eBay, AliExpress, and even TikTok Shop.

What You Should Do — Right Now

If you own one of these models:

1. Stop using it immediately!
2. Visit Anker’s Recall Portal to verify your serial number.
3. Submit a photo of the device with:
   • Model and serial number
   • Your name and date
   • The word “recalled” written clearly on the device
4. Choose your refund or Anker gift card.
5. If you own a recalled Anker power bank, you can contact Anker directly at 800-988-7973 or email support@anker.com to request a full cash refund or gift card — and if you’ve experienced any injury or damage, contact Armstrong Lee & Baker LLP to explore your legal options.

Do not throw the device in the trash. Lithium-ion batteries require proper disposal at a hazardous waste facility.
